I have a traffic monitor on my blog that watches everyone who visits. I like to look at that counter periodically to make sure I know who comes around; I can see where each person is from, their IP address, what operating system and browser they use, how long they stay, what they read, and where they've come from. I like looking at that information so I can somewhat know what goes on around here.

The past couple weeks, I've been seeing hits I'm not a huge fan of...hits that come from places I really don't want my blog being, like Facebook. After mulling over going private again, I decided I really don't want to do that. I like being public and meeting new people. I just don't like this current location being so public; lots of IRL people know my address and I'm really not so sure I like that. You see, I love my job and while I NEVER write about things that would jeopardize my job, I want to be doubly sure I'm safe.

So here's my solution: I won't be writing on this blog anymore. I've taken all my posts and moved them to another blog so I can upload them to Blurb to make a blog book. They're not at the new location. I really hate to put my readers through a big switch, but I have decided that it is in my best interest to create a more anonymous blog with an address fewer people know. I'm ok with being public; in fact, I love it that I can share with so many people. I just want to start "fresh" and keep my site somewhat protected.

Here's the plan: email me at stephcolts2129{at}hotmail{dot}com for the new blog link. I'll give it to you {granted, the blog hasn't even been designed yet, but I'm working on it} and you can hop on over and become a follower. Like I said, I hate to do this, but it's for my privacy and comfort level. My location will not be mentioned, nor will links to my photography site be present. Since my photography site has my first and last name, I need to be a little pickier with how much I give it out. I won't write about the exact hospital I work at and will definitely not be posting links to local places, like my church, etc. If you want that information, email me; I'll be happy to give out links to people I am more familiar with. However, I won't be posting it for the world to see.

What's going to change in this big shake up? Nothing about the way I write; I will continue to be real and genuine in my posts, sharing what's on my heart. But the thing that will change will be necessary to keep my "IRL" life more protected. I don't mean any offense to anyone reading, please know that. I am simply protecting myself while continuing to be the same blogger I've always been.
